About the blog
Welcome to the blog! Offend My Mind is a collaborative effort between a husband and wife to discuss a variety of topics from a Reformed Christian perspective.
Why blog?#
I (Talon) and my wife (Shada) are a part of Gen Z; zoomers, if you will. All around us, especially in the last ten years, we have grown up witnessing the abysmal decline of society in the United States and the West at large. Not only are we witnessing it, but because these movements are so closely tied to young people, we are living it in a way that previous generations are not, due simply to being in different stages of life. This gives us a different perspective, just like every other generation.
Our reasons for publishing that perspective are many. But, to name a few:
- The triune God is the only foundation for life and reason itself, so generational belonging aside, it’s good to write more about that in a society that runs off borrowed capital from the Christian worldview1.
- We don’t see enough Christian zoomers publicly discussing important topics2.
- We, sadly, don’t see enough Christians in general representing a truly biblical stance on various issues.
- The more Christians in public discourse, the better.
Now, this isn’t to say that we will always say things perfectly. But our striving and intent is to accurately represent “the whole counsel of God”, grounded by the historic Reformed tradition.
What’s with the name?#
Our inspiration comes from the song “Heretic” by Gable Price and Friends:
Oh, offend my mind so that I can know You more
And break my heart so it looks more like Yours
Offend my mind so that I can know You more
Offend my mind, offend my mind
